Most people know about the measure tool, this is a great tool but for quick distance measurements nothing beats the selection method. Simply Click to different edges or faces and in the bottom right corner you will find the distances!
This is a great tool that has multiple possibilities. For example, you can quickly find the distance between two co-planar faces by holding down the CONTROL button and selecting both faces in the graphics area. Presto!! The distance between the two planes/faces is displayed down at the bottom.
